First niche was included in price for ENS and got the one for other ENS free and paid $180 for the 3rd one in the main bath. Those prices all seem very extravagant considering the minimal extra work involved in creating them. Re: Shower Wall Niche 600mm x 350mm - Cost 11Mar 30, 2015 5:54 pm We put a half wall the length of our double shower cost us $385 Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Shower Wall Niche 600mm x 350mm - Cost 12Mar 30, 2015 10:08 pm I think ours was around $280, pretty sure it was as above, irrespective to size. $550 seems very excessive. Re: Shower Wall Niche 600mm x 350mm - Cost 14Apr 09, 2015 12:51 pm Ours were $330 each, and we could choose what size we wanted. Seems steep for sure! Our build - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77368 Re: Shower Wall Niche 600mm x 350mm - Cost 15Apr 13, 2015 7:50 am Bear in mind that most builders will only put a niche in a double wall. Whether that is just in the shower or a complete wall in the bathroom/ensuite depends on the builder. Therefore you will lose that space from the shower or room. Generally it is not as simple as framing a niche in an existing wall even though there are products around that can make it that simple. Re: Shower Wall Niche 600mm x 350mm - Cost 17Jul 02, 2015 10:43 am Jumping in a bit late here. We also wanted shower niche's and our builder quoted $500 each!!!! We just couldn't justify the cost for a shelf! So we ended up choosing just to place a glass shelf on the wall. Fast forward.... We're having our plaster starting today and i don't know if im regretting not paying the extra $$$ for the shower niche. Have just sent an email to our builder politely asking if the cost of the niche's are negotiable as i really had my heart set on them. I'm sure if we go ahead its going to put our build time back by a week or so... Lets see how it goes. Seems a lot of builders will make a double wall to allow for the depth of the Niche. Most of the upgrades with our builder are really reasonable. However, they (our builder) is holding firm on quite a considerable amount to upgrade our bricks, which I am determined to get. I figure you win some, you lose some. If you really want them then I think you should get them.
