Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 19, 2008 1:24 pm Hi Guys!!
Well now that I am officially building (so exciting to say that!!) I have to get all my colours selected. I am currently starting with the bathroom. I will be having the following; Benchtop = QQ Coral Reef Cupboards = Laminex Oyster Linea Shower/Bath/Wall tiles = White gloss I'm trying to figure out which tile for the floor works better. I have the option of Urban Earth (the darker tile) or Urban Cloud (the lighter tile). Originally I selected Urban Earth, however, now that I look at them more I think the Urban Cloud works better. To me the Urban Earth is to much of a contrast to the Oyster Linea cupboards, whereas the Urban Cloud seems to blend in nicely....I like the idea of a light bathroom too. My only worry is that the Urban Cloud is too similar to the Oyster Linea and then maybe it will all look to similar, but I was hoping the white tiles on the bath and walls/shower would break it up a bit... We will also be having White plantation shutters on the windows in here. I am also hoping to have a feature around the top of the bath and a strip in the shower...maybe pebbles, or a stone coloured mosaic??? I have included pictures of all my samples together for you to help me decide. Thanks for any input guys Pic 1 - Urban Earth (darker tile) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Pic 2 - Urban Cloud (lighter tile) - My choice...I think Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My karma ran over your dogma Re: Which Tile? Thanks for your input Toni and Sharee! I like the Urban Earth colour better than the Urban Cloud when on their own, but when I put them with my selections and imagine my carpet etc I feel the Urban Cloud goes better..... Oh boy! This is soo hard!!! Why was I looking forward to this My karma ran over your dogma Re: Which Tile? (With pics) 7Jun 19, 2008 2:44 pm Bel, don’t stand over the tiles, take the photo from the side so the flash isn’t refecting back into the camera.
Little tricks I have had to learn now doing email consultations, when I take photos of my selections and send them back to the clients, I can’t have that glare…..stand to the front, not over the tiles. Ok off to take a better picture now, I have tried to take the flash off the camera but I have no idea which button to press, if the next pics I take don't work I will have to wait for DH to come home and help Back in a min My karma ran over your dogma Re: Which Tile? (With pics) 10Jun 19, 2008 2:50 pm I just re-read your post and I think your bath will have white tiles, if that is the case I change my vote to the lighter tiles!! I think you're right the white tiles will break up the continuing colour and it will look nice and fresh. (oh my god I can't even make up my mind on other peoples houses!!) Re: Which Tile? Not that I can tell that much difference, but I like the second, I feel in real life it will have more depth? These pictures make them look very similar but they aren't really, the Urban Cloud is more of a light earthy brown whereas the Urban Earth is a darker earthy brown if that makes sense?? I prefer the Urban Earth when looking at the tiles seperatly, its a gorgeous colour, but when I put it next to the Oyster Linea it doesn't blend as nicely as the Urban Cloud....but then again I don't know if blending is a good thing? Thank-you for all your help, I'm sure I will come to a decision at some point My karma ran over your dogma Re: Which Tile?
