Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 06, 2015 8:48 pm Hi. We have a large bathroom space (approx 3x4m). Originally it was a laundry and bathroom that was knocked into one. The laundry is now located elsewhere. We are planning to put up a wall and create a main bathroom and separate ensuite however the house, with three bedroom, is small (11sq) and is located on an area popular for holiday accommidation. We are undertaking this project with the view of selling on once the entire property has been updated (1-2 years). Do people generally prefer two bathrooms, even if they are small, or would a large two-way bathroom work better? Thankyou in advance for your replies. Re: One large bathroom or two smaller bathrooms? 2Feb 06, 2015 9:16 pm if you can get one bathroom with a bath shower and basin and the other with a shower and toilet (ensuite) this is always going to be more function. IMHO I dont think a bigger bathroom is more functional than a smaller one. Unlike a kitchen or bedroom where you could use the space for storage or furniture. Re: One large bathroom or two smaller bathrooms? 3Feb 09, 2015 7:08 pm No competition two smaller bathrooms wins every time due to the ability of both been used at the same time, I wouldn't buy a house with one bathroom, even a huge one is not much more use, ask real estate agents and they surely will say, make two bathrooms Re: One large bathroom or two smaller bathrooms? 4Feb 09, 2015 7:45 pm Having 3 bedrooms means that 2 bathrooms is definitely important. The resale value would be higher with 2 bathrooms. One large one would not add value and would put off some buyers, thereby decreasing your appeal to a wider market "is it exempt or do I need to get permission from council" Call your Council and ask them 1 1514 consider putting in wall WC instead of robe in the same bedroom, then it might be doable to hook up to the existing piping. 4 6602 4 4430 |
