Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 03, 2015 12:43 pm Hi all, hi I need some advise and guideline here. we are currently building a house in Victoria. we chosen wall toilet from OSTAR. http://www.ostar.com.au/toilet/bellevue After the installation, we noticed the plumber install the water inlet from the right side of the toilets. When we asked, as it should be from the back. At first, they (the builder and plumber) told us the Victorian regulation specify the water inlet should be on the right side of the toilet. I checked with VBA (Victorian Building Authority) and confirmed there is no such regulation about the water inlet. Now the builder told us, they will not rectify as this is a cosmetic issue and was not specify in the contract. can anyone suggest what should I do now? Thanks, Re: Wall toilet installation issue 2Feb 03, 2015 2:51 pm Great Builder to use a lame excuse like that, he just doesn't want to fix it due to cost out of his pocket. Maybe you can look at the installation guide from the toilet as the picture on the web page provided drawing shows the hole for water inlet on the back of toilet. Look at arguing that it isn't installed as per manufacturers installation instructions. Re: Wall toilet installation issue 3Feb 03, 2015 3:38 pm the same drawing also on the box. I told this to the builder, but they said that they installed many of this type of toilet and we were the first one wants to have the inlet from the back. He insisted the toilet is in working order and only cosmetic. what should I do? thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16284 Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products.
