Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Rinnai hot water service 5Jan 20, 2015 10:28 am I'm trying to understand, does the hot water come out hot? I've read that the S26 instant booster is not designed to be run as a continuous hot water system. What the hell happens if we are in winter and get very little sun to heat the water in the tank? As system that has to heat water IMO is considered continuous be it from 20deg to 45 or from 0 to 45 so I don't get it. Re: Rinnai hot water service 8Jan 20, 2015 11:17 am Has anyone opted to get a more "powerful" unit to ensure you have hot water faster? Or increased their piping in the home to allow more water flow so if multiple people are showering, etc there isn't a drop in water pressure or amount of available hot water? Or will this have more so to do with the pressure from the street? Or do they have some sort of pump in the HWS to assist/increase pressure? Re: Rinnai hot water service 9Jan 20, 2015 11:53 am siapao. I have a K26 and its no problem with three taps especially since todays taps are low flow and water saving. Also with your question about increasing your piping. If by that you mean using a thicker pipe then this will reducing friction and possibily increase water pressure but you will also have increased heat loss. The only recommendation I would make is if you have a big house with long pipe runs and are using stand alone instant hotwater units (no tank) then I would prefer to have two smaller (say 16) instead of one (26). Re: Rinnai hot water service 10Jan 20, 2015 3:40 pm we have a chromagen s26 with 2 solar panels and in winter it is very disappointing they are rated at 26 litres per minute (with a 20 degree increase in water temperature) assuming ambient temperature is 5 degrees who has a 25 degree shower? supposedly you can run 3 taps at a time, but you notice if just 1 extra tap is turned on also the difference between instantaneous and storage tank pressure was very noticeable when we next upgrade will be going to a commercial setup. like a footy club with 2x 26 or 2x 32 litre units joined together Re: Rinnai hot water service 11Jan 21, 2015 8:38 am hopefully water doesnt get down to 5 degrees in melb. Pipes below ground are fairly well insulated. Remeber chromegen are one of the cheaper brand. I run one with out the tank Rinnia K26 and easily run two showers at 42/43 degrees. How hot do you run your showers? Re: Rinnai hot water service 12Jan 24, 2015 3:27 am Do any of you using a Rinnai tankless system have the wireless controllers? Wondering if I should invest in those.
