I always think it's good if someone is able to have a shower, and still leave access for guests to use the toilet. Re: My Toilet in my Bathroom??? 8Jan 17, 2015 12:44 pm Totally up to you - but separate - if possible - imo. Or if they eat something that their stomach doesn't agree with you will be able to shut the door to contain the smell! Re: My Toilet in my Bathroom??? 11Jan 19, 2015 10:13 am It doesn't really matter. I toilet in the bathroom wouldn't be a make or break for buying or selling a house. Having a separate toilet actually wastes a lot of space. A lot of people these days are combining there toilet and bathroom to gain back this space. Just do whats right for you and what works in your home. Storm in a tea cup!!! I often find it disturbing when I visit a friends to be looking at myself sitting on the crapper. If you can avoid it don't do it. If not, well it's not that much of a big deal just personal preference. Re: My Toilet in my Bathroom??? 13Jan 29, 2015 5:54 am Crazyk I'm not a fan of toilets in bathrooms. If you have a large double story you may end up with a toilet in bath room upstairs and powder room downstairs. I still think this is poor design from many project home builders though. So much space and no separate toilet? Recently I went to visit a friend, they have a single level one toilet in bathroom and the other in ensuite. At 5 months pregnant I needed to go 'now! Mum was bathing kids so I couldn't, it was too awkward to ask to go into the ensuite. On our custom plan we have a wet area with separate bathroom, toilet and laundry and a tiled 'landing". Renovating is trickier but if you can find space make it separate or even add one to the laundry. Re: My Toilet in my Bathroom??? 14Jan 29, 2015 9:08 am Hmmmm I have both. In two ensuites I have the toilet and bathroom together. For the common bathroom they are separate and the master ensuite they are separate. When designing my house I made sure that both stories had a separate bathroom that guests could use. Depends on space I guess. For my mum's house the toilet is separate from the bathroom but combined in the ensuite. Re: My Toilet in my Bathroom??? 15Jan 29, 2015 9:26 am I agree AM. Space ( or lack of it ) is the main consideration. If you have a large house you can afford the extra room for a separate toilet. If you live in a small house it may not be the best option or best use of the space available. Stewie Re: My Toilet in my Bathroom??? 16Jan 29, 2015 9:27 am Yes an ensuite is different by definition I think generally toilet with ensuite. Looking at some of the designs on websites, they are all selling very similar products. I get that you want something stylish. It's worth looking for search terms like SaveH2O… 2 6990 Hey, I am wanting to add a second toilet to my house, bit we have limited room.
