Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Nov 08, 2014 8:07 am I'm after some info about hobless showers. We wanted this to our ensuite (upstairs) but were told that it couldn't be done due to how they had to do the waterproofing. I accepted this at the time but yesterday I had a walk through a mates place under construction and their builder seems to have had no problems doing it! I'm going to have a chat to our SS on Monday but though I'd ask here if anybody had heard of this? Re: Can't do hobless shower in second storey bathroom? 2Nov 08, 2014 10:52 am It can be done to any bathroom. It's more expensive though. They would have to add a 40mm bedded floor, so you step up into the bathroom in the entry way. Ask them why/more clarifaction, and report back! Quality is like buying oats. If you want good, fresh oats, you'll pay a fair price. However,if you can be satisfied with the oats that have already been through the horse, that comes a little cheaper. Re: Can't do hobless shower in second storey bathroom? 3Nov 08, 2014 12:36 pm Hobbed shower areas are just cheaper and easier to do thats all. If you have a 2nd storey bathroom you should be using cement sheeting on the floor instead of the tongue and groove. It does cost more but there is no reason that you cant do a hobless shower, BIG LIE Re: Can't do hobless shower in second storey bathroom? 4Nov 11, 2014 6:48 am Thought so. Spoke to the SS yesterday.
