Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 11, 2014 9:20 pm Hey all, Still going through ideas for my new bathroom. I was wondering if anyone has done anything like this before: http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s172/knight_mc/bath_zps06ed6bfe.jpg But using a freestanding bath instead of a built in. How do they go with water running around them and under them? Not really worried about cleaning behind it at the moment, more that I don't want water sitting under it. If i get all my falls right in the screeting so water falls to the shower waste and to the waste under the bath would there be any issues? Cheers guys and girls Re: How would a freestanding bath go in a wet area? 3Aug 12, 2014 9:14 am Don't like them ... Fad that might date the bathroom dreadfully in a few years. It all helps get my head around it. Saint Mike Don't like them ... Fad that might date the bathroom dreadfully in a few years. Also - as you age - getting into/out of the bath is an issue ... I'm not really worried about "fads" as its my house and its for me and the better half and thats what she wants. Also I'm 26. So age isn't too much of an issue yet haha Re: How would a freestanding bath go in a wet area? 5Aug 13, 2014 12:31 pm I wouldn't worry about it being a fad . We are about to do something vaguely similar in one of our bathrooms and have no problem at all with it either and we are in our late fifties. Stewie Re: How would a freestanding bath go in a wet area? 10Aug 16, 2014 2:55 pm I wouldn't worry about the fad thing, we figure eventually we will want to change things any way so build for today's taste rather than "what's going to age well" We have kids, this would be brilliant to keep my 1 yo from wanting to shower with me constantly lol Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
