Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 02, 2008 4:19 pm See these lovely tiles? I want them. I NEED THEM! *rabid*
How much do you think they'd be per square metre? I'd want my bathroom done the same way this one is, with the tiles going all the way up to the ceiling almost. And the size of the tile is deliciously large but not in a silly way. Edit - forgot to put the pic in, didn't I? *hitting self in head* Here it is... Re: How much would these tiles be? 3Jun 02, 2008 5:37 pm Looks like marble to me. approx $60-80 per sqm add approx 50-60 per sqm to lay them. we thought of paler version for the house but high maintenance due to porosity.. also the veins appear as grooves down the road (I think, one of the laid sample was not so impressive. perhaps sealing every yr or so may be required) Re: How much would these tiles be? 4Jun 03, 2008 4:35 pm Definelty is a natural stone - looking at the veining most likely marble.
You can tell by the variation from tile to tile. Yes depending on the stone and the grading $80 a metre. As its a bathroom hard to give you a laying price but at least 20-30% more than a conventional tile. Also high maintenance - a sealing is no guarantee of staining - only a level of protection. My advice would be going for a glazed porcelain or ceramic tile in a large format for the wall. There are some good look alikes out there...Ill try find some pics for you..[/img] Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: How much would these tiles be? 5Jun 04, 2008 10:43 am Thanks for that!
How much would any of those tiles be? I don’t know how many I’d need… I am also wanting to tile just the entrance of our apartment, about 4 rows of 4 large tiles like the above pictures. How much would this be? Thanks again! How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: How much would these tiles be? 6Jun 04, 2008 2:35 pm Well to give you an idea those tiles are Spanish glazed Porcelains 33x60 that we retail from $55 in glazed porcelain and $42 in ceramic. You can buy less expensive Chinese ones too...but I find that there designs are no where near as detailed. Re: How much would these tiles be? 7Jan 18, 2009 11:49 am The tiles in the first picture are a honed and filled travertine, they would be 305x305 in size and range in price from $75- $120m2 depending on the quality you preferred. A good tiler would charge between $45-75m2 depending on laying pattern, and prep work needed.
The sealing would only need to be done evry 5-10yrs using SureSeals Gold Label porcelain/Stone sealer, depending on foot traffic, and cleaning products used. Products like Marble and Travertine would look sensational fr years and years, and the advantage is that they are timeless and don't date, unlike other tiles. hope this Helps Dean.
