They were only casual users of the bath though - they used to use the shower only 99% of the time. I think with resurfacing a bath it depends a great deal on who you use. It only cost me about $40 -- specialty heavy duty 'bath' enamel paint from hardware. It turned out fantastic! You just have to sand first so the enamel grips. The fumes are almost unbearable though. Nearly passed out a few times. I kept holding my breath and running outside for air. My bathroom is tiny.
