Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 06, 2014 2:07 pm Are you meant to tile around bath lip or are you meant to tile underneath the lip of the bath? I would think that tiling around the bath lip would be more prone to water leaking under the bath if the silicone/grout has a gap... Re: Tiling around bath 3Jun 06, 2014 3:17 pm I have done it both ways. The first (a long time ago) I tiled up under & inside the lip of the bath. After a while I thought this detail looked a bit cheap & nasty. The second time I built up a full width brick dwarf wall around the outside the edge of the bath and tiled over this so I had a tiled ledge about 150mm wide around the bath. Look at some display homes & chose what would look best in your bathroom. Re: Tiling around bath 4Jun 06, 2014 5:38 pm it depends on the look you are after, most houses have a bath hob bigger than the bath tub that sits on top of the tiles then silicone is run around between the bath edge and the tiles. The entire hob should be water proofed and a small upstand around the inside edge of the cut out to prevent water that may get under the bath edge going any further. Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included. My hesitation… 0 24697 2 4498 You need to reference the manufactures installation guide, your supplier may have strengthened the base where it is not required to sit on a bed. 1 1834 |
