Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 04, 2014 4:42 pm We DON'T currently have floor to ceiling tiles in our house we built last year but I would like them(bathroom/ensuite). Is it possible to do it now without too much hassle? Re: Floor to ceiling tile question 2Jun 04, 2014 9:22 pm As long as you can get the same tiles you should be fine. I know lots of people that didn't do full height when they built, just bought the tiles, put them away and then got a tiler to do it later. Re: Floor to ceiling tile question 3Jun 05, 2014 10:47 am It is imperative that you not only get the same tile, but also the same batch in both tone (colour) and calibre (size). Every tile varies from batch to batch. Most people think this is in colour/shade only but they also vary in the size (calibre). If you have an old box this information should be printed on it. Re: Floor to ceiling tile question 5Jun 06, 2014 9:44 am The other problem will be your cornice. If you have floor to ceiling tiling the cornice is installed after the tiles. If you do the tiling after the cornice you lose the bottom edge of your cornice. Depending how thick the tiles are this can sometimes look funny. You can always pull down the cornice and redo it after tiling.
