Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 01, 2014 1:54 pm Hi folks, Sorry to be asking a question with my very first post, but I couldn't justify calling out a plumber for something that I should be able to fix myself. The problem we have is that water is coming out of the little overflow tube thingy under our laundry sink. This happens whenever we have more than a trickle flowing from the laundry tap, and every time the washing machine purges water into the sink. We have had this problem ever since we moved into the house about 9 months ago. It's quite annoying, as anything we store in this little cabinet under the sink has to be in water-proofed bags, and it is always musty. I have checked the pipes, and there don't appear to be any blockages. Can I simply plug-up this little overflow tube? Or can I go to bunnings and buy a different pipe orientation to screw in? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please see photos attached. The little tube where the water comes from is clearly visible in the close-up photo. Its not an overflow. Its there to allow a washing machine or dishwasher drain to be connected. Its normally blanked off and you have to drill it out to use it. I would block it off.
