There might be a problem with the plumber - the measurements might be out. We'll be chatting to the site supervisor tomorrow. still it's all good in the hood. I'm interested to see how they look. Actually the tiles were done today and the bench top installed. We figured out the reason for the floor breaking was due to the soil in the bathroom dropping lower underneath the shower and bathtub. This has been fixed now! Anyways.. some pix are below of the water proofing which stank to high heaven but disappeared within 24 hours. Deposit has been paid and we're still in the middle of getting finance arranged... but it's pretty much all go. We went with a company that a friend has used and very happy with. It was a tough choice, but the company is also local to my area so dropping in to see them isn't a hassle. How is your original $15k budget looking ? Three out of the four had less than $1500 between them - I was pretty happy with that. To be honest, although we originally thought 15k would be OK, when we were doing research which included costs of getting floor to ceiling tiling, adding extra plumbing for a loo, fixing up the floor - we had to bump up our budget - so we doubled it. Where we could save money, we did. We don't regret it at all, not much left to do now. It's always nice when everything comes together just right. There's always that bit of trepidation when your spending a bit of money, so it's nice when it works out just as you hoped. It also helped that you knew exactly what you wanted. It's always nice when everything comes together just right. There's always that bit of trepidation when your spending a bit of money, so it's nice when it works out just as you hoped. It also helped that you knew exactly what you wanted. It was very easy getting everything done because we'd done so much research and knew exactly what we needed. Now that's over with, we have some issues to fix with the roof and hot water system that cropped up over the last few months that we need to fix, so the work I wanted to do inside the bedrooms will need to wait. It's one thing after another and I'm looking forward to not spending anymore money for at least a year or several. I'm not sure at this point if I would ever say "I'll buy another house and do it again" but this house is a project home and when we're done with it - will be exactly what we want and we won't be moving from the area any time soon. The owner of the company which did the bathroom is coming around tomorrow to do handover with the paperwork for warranties etc and take photos so I guess they are pretty happy with the work. I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15244 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17007 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11596 |
