Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 15, 2014 8:57 pm Hi all Hope for some advice on the depth of the vanity for our powder room. The powder room is 1800x910mm. The entry is via a cavity slider on the 1800 wall. Centred on the opposite wall from the doorway will be a wall hung vanity. Toilet will be on the 910 wall down the other end. (Can put a picture up later if doesn't make sense) Basically the banks we like is 360mm deep and I'm worried that will take up too much room. The other option is a basin that's 260mm deep but doesn't have any room on the top for soap ect. Is 360mm too deep for the basin in the powder room or will it be fine? Re: Basin size for Powder Room 2Apr 15, 2014 9:08 pm If you have to get past it to the toilet it could be a bit squeezy for some people as it only leaves about 600mm. We put a powder room in approx. 900 x 1500 internally, with a cavity slider at the short end. We put a small wall hung basin in about 180 or 200 deep. It's perfectly functional and doesn't take up too much room. I was hyperventilating at the cost of small ones as they were more than larger basins, and averaged 200-500. Ending up getting a great one for $80- from Gottliebs (if you're in Melbourne). The had a few for round that price Re: Basin size for Powder Room 3Apr 15, 2014 9:20 pm Is there any chance of keeping the slider still on the 1800 long wall but move it down 400-500mm, you could then have the sink on one 910 wall and the toilet on the other. http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Basin size for Powder Room 4Apr 16, 2014 8:13 pm Thanks both for your replies. We really want the basin opposite to doorway so it looks nice but also thought would be strange if the basin and mirror was opposite the toilet as who wants to see them self while on the toilet. Any one else able to measure there basin and powder room widths? Re: Basin size for Powder Room 5Apr 16, 2014 9:47 pm our powder room is almost identical - it's 1820 x 1000 - with also a cavity sliding door on one end of the 1820 wall. the powder room sink is opposite the doorway. we have a 340mm deep sink - it's this one: http://www.duravit.com.au/website/homep ... ml/p-94764 ended up being pretty much the perfect size - and enough room on the top for a soap dispenser. but bear in mind our width is 1000. i'd say if you took out 9cm from our width, it would still be okay (ie yours will be fine). hope that helps.
