Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 20, 2014 7:12 pm Hi All The cold water tap for our bath has recently broken and needs to be repaired or replaced. It is a ceramic, half-turn tap. I am told that it is not a tap available in Australia and that it is not likely to be able to be fixed, so we sought to remove and replace the whole tap set. Having removed the taps I am told that the breech is not known to my plumber or to the people at Reece and that we need to cut away the stonework and the wall in order to replace the breech. Obviously that's not a great outcome and I would much rather simply source a tap that will fit the breech. Can you recommend anything that may work? Here are links to photos of the tap set, breech and spindle. Re: Please help me identify this tap/breech 2Mar 21, 2014 7:27 am look quite similar to Bourne's Ascot range. not 100% match for style though. what is the hole size of the breech and the length of the spindle? if you can tell me the brand/model, i might be able to point you in the right direction. alternatively, calling CaromaDorf (GWA bathrooms and kitchens) and asknig to speak with their technical staff, might help. they have guys that have been employed for over 30 years designing 1000's of taps. they would haev a solution for you.
