Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 18, 2014 8:48 pm Hello Guys ,Thanks for providing us your inputs on our other posts on this forum. We are first home buyer, so really appreciate your further inputs As of now we have called few bathroom renovators from ServiceSeeking and waiting for their quotes. Now we are thinking about what color, type of tile, what kinda vanity, bath, screen etc we should get. Having really less idea about this we need your inputs. Only thing we have decided for now is to go with a frame less shower - but from where to buy - how much it would cost etc -no idea Likewise, What type of vanity, bath, toilet, light to get is big thing to look ahead. We understand it really depends on ones budget but wondering if you guys can give is some rough idea. Anna and Glen Re: ideas needed for design style 2Mar 19, 2014 7:58 am You are basically asking how long is a piece of string. All the answers you need you'd be able to find by doing a search in this bathroom forum to see what you like and how much it costs and what you don't. Prices are easy to find - catalogues, showrooms etc Trawling through the new house builds that are finished and noting what people are installing in their bathrooms would help you re colours, styles, vanities etc. You should start by posting a photo of your bathroom layout with wall dimensions including the window and door position so people can comment and take it from there. Stewie Re: ideas needed for design style 3Mar 19, 2014 10:03 am SD is right. No-one can really pick your colours - its often personal taste. I'd always suggest staying simple - nothing too garish. We like tiles to ceiling, many don't, large square on floor and rectangular on wall - but matching colours. Shower recess - get them to continue the floor pattern - not do the angled style. I'd always suggest clear glass in showers - but many hate this. Visit display houses and see what they've done. Visit show rooms and see what's on offer. Watch out for specials. Tradesman may not get it cheaper than you can (eg you might buy a 'tastic cheaper at Harvey Norman than they could buy). Draw the room on paper and muck around with ideas. Remember to have space at door. Don't put toilet to close to wall. Watch where shower door opens to - ie not onto a sharp corner. Think about privacy needs. One good light over vanity is essential - or so my wife says. But a 'Tastic has a light, a heater - and an exhaust fan. They come in 2 or 4 globes - so how big is the room. But - sit and plan it out on paper. Then go into a show room and ask their advice. If they think you're genuine they will help. Re: ideas needed for design style 4Mar 19, 2014 10:07 am Oops - also - get the larger toilet - ie the broader one ... Not the skinny seat. We have those slow closing seats too - quite good. Re: ideas needed for design style 5Mar 19, 2014 10:52 am Have a look on pinterest, houzz for bathroom colours that you like. If you can, go open houses and show rooms as well - it is time consuming, but time spent in find what you like and making definite decisions is better than going in with half an idea and being unhappy with the result. Re: ideas needed for design style 6Mar 19, 2014 8:37 pm Thanks Guys really appreciate your comments. We have just started doing research so please don't mind our silly questions or concerns The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1618 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel. The lower chord of the first pic would be a massive lump if made using timber considering the size of the rafters.
