They have another product called aqua panel that I'm looking at too. It's more of a flat surface. Actually this one comes in a flat surface too. Although in your case it would be an expensive exercise if you already have full tiled walls! Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 8May 08, 2008 6:12 pm I went to the Laminex showroom a couple of suburbs over and saw these (and others like them) - they are really nice looking, they are 3 dimensional (the bits are raised slightly) so they feel good as well
I liked them! Fiona Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 10May 08, 2008 6:56 pm they have the tiled ones (like your picture) also like a mini orb style as well - and I think a couple of other textures .... they are shown on the laminex brochure (the big one with all the cabinet doors, tops etc on it) ... but with the show room so close by, I just go there for samples!
I personally don't think it looks bad, it is rather glossy though so it will be a shiny surface .... they had it in a darker grey/brown colour as the front of an kitchen island bench in the display I saw ... looked really effective (oh I've also seen it as a splash back - you have to put glass over the top in front of the cooking area or stop it ether side of the cooktop - but it looked good) Fiona Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 11May 08, 2008 7:40 pm Yeah I think a full wall would be very shiny and white!! I think I'll go check it out. They also have plain white. I think I'll check it out and see how much it would be, if it's cheaper than tiles we might consider it. The bathroom would stay nice and clean looking that's for sure! Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 12May 12, 2008 8:15 pm Hi,
Received some samples of this product and it looks pretty good! I'll have to go see it in a showroom to decide if I'm sold or not. I also got a sample of a plain white gloss, also interesting. I think it could look really good but it might look like the bathroom is missing tiles! Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 13May 15, 2008 9:36 pm Rachelle,
I love it! Love the idea of no grout at all... and very clean looking! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 14May 15, 2008 10:03 pm Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't there be joins between panels and how do they look? I think in the picutre, they were smart and avoided having a wide section by making the shelves built in. Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 15May 16, 2008 12:55 pm yes, the sheets are 1200 wide if you wanted to do full walls. I've been looking at my plans to see if there is any creative way to get around the joins. Upstairs bathroom backs onto ensute so could reduce the main bathroom vanity to 1200 wide and push the ensuite vanity into the main bathroom a touch to only have 1200 sections. Other wall would be a challenge though!
I'm going to look at the showroom but I think this is going to be the downfall, don't want joins in middle of room. laminex 16May 16, 2008 8:33 pm years ago my folk renovated their bathroom with this really pretty ( for it's time) laminate that looked like marble. Beautiful stuff except the width of it meant joins. The joins were done with horrid plastic strip stuff which ruined the entire effect. Make sure the joins are invisible! Re: Laminex Visage - what do you think? 17Feb 20, 2009 12:20 pm Hi, I love the look of this product. I have had a little sample bit in my shower area for about 6 months to test how it wears and there is no sign of mould. I'd like to use it for our ensuite - to be but the problem is, all the bathroom renovation companies that I have spoken to are really reluctant to install it. Nobody can really say why (except that it scratches when being cleaned with harsh cleaners). Does anybody actually have this product installed and are you happy with it? Don't know if this is allowed in this forum but if there is anybody who had it installed in Canberra I'd be very keen to find out the company who did it. Thanks heaps! No. It's not original.
