Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 07, 2013 7:08 am We're building a smallish retirement home in the Adelaide Hills, using a prefab builder. Our laundry room is now a bit oversize due to some other design decisions. And that's okay; storage never goes to waste, and I can set up a jewelry workshop and/or sewing room in there. In order to hold the line on construction costs, we're going with a modest line up of cabinets to house the basics and having the rest of the room delivered unfinished. That likely means I'm heading down to Ikea shortly after delivery for some full height wardrobe cabinets and a wooden bench top. The cabinets the builder is delivering are faced with Laminex, and will have a benchtop of Laminex Avenue in Natural. All the floors are a soft grey stone-look porcelain tile, 'Sandstone Grey.' I was thinking that the laundry cabs should either match the overhead cabinets in the kitchen (Laminex Sarsen Grey) or be a white which approximately matches the white of the Ikea melamine cabinet line 'Harlig.' (The closest the Ikea cabinets could be to the installed cabinets would be on an adjacent wall at right angles.) So if I want Laminex to match Ikea Harlig, should I be looking at White, Iceberg, or Polar White?
