the electrician we chose was more expensive than the others, but would do the ducting.
...and then didn't. He installed the fans and decided not to do the ducting after all. He says there isn't enough room, although wasn't clear why, and will "take the ducting off the price of installation" which is great, except he wants to charge more than anyone else quoted for installation only.
Unless he explained to me in a way that was clear to understand exactly why he discovered problems after he started work which prevented him finishing the job as had been agreed, I'd been flippin mad! I mean yeah, sometimes it turns out there is a problem but he ought to explain properly and look for alternative solutions not simply do half the job. Do you have quotes, I mean in writing? I'd pay whatever the cheapest quote was for installation only, if you can prove what it was, and tell him goodbye because now you have to pay for someone else to come and finish the job. If there's a genuine problem which will prevent anyone else from putting in ducting for you either then he ought to of explained it so your not wasting time trying to do something that's not feasible.
