Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Leaking shower base .. help please! 2Jun 14, 2013 10:04 am Where's it leaking from Jazzie? The tiles in my shower base delaminated and it also leaked from the simmons (sp?) channel which meant water came out of the corner where the join in the metal which surrounded the tiled base was (on the floor). All of that was remedied by removing the screen, taking the tiles off the base, re-waterproofing and then putting new tiles down. Turns out the shower had been badly installed to begin with (including the screen being so loosely attached to the wall it just about fell off!) Hope that helps! Re: Leaking shower base .. help please! 3Jun 14, 2013 3:55 pm Thanks Grom40 - sounds similar to our problem. We thought there was a product you could pour/apply over the shower base to seal it, rather than pull the lot up. Thought someone here might know such a product thanks, Jazz Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Leaking shower base .. help please! 5Jun 18, 2013 12:02 pm hello, it is important to seal your shower recess correctly we had a leaking shower recess=$$$$$$$ massive cost from termite damage Re: Leaking shower base .. help please! 6Jun 19, 2013 11:04 am For some reason the link I found isn't allowed here. Do a search for "does Megasealed really work" and you come up with a scary thread with a lot of complaints on True local. Just be careful when looking for a miracle quick fix for a series issue. Wow this is weird, why is True local not allowed here? Re: Leaking shower base .. help please! 7Jun 22, 2013 3:57 pm I have also had a lot of trouble with my tiled shower bases leaking from being poorly sealed and the base tiling levels flowing the wrong way and water pooling under the shower screen frame and smelling.. My leaks have damaged the wood doorframes and surrounding windowsills and skirting boards by swelling them from leaking water, even rusted the screens and grout.. Even the toilet door frame next door to the bathroom is damaged. A Brand New house and I'm tempted to rip it all out and start again. Its horrible.
