Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 23, 2013 10:14 pm Hi just saw this, our LG WD-8074 FHB washing machine 7.5kg front loader is also starting to move alot. We went from lino in our flat, moved into a house with natural solid boards (not floating) and it moves all over the place even though it's levelled. Was looking at this product but not sure if it will work. I also am thinking of putting concrete pavers underneath and seeing how these go. http://www.gviinc.net/products.shtml Any ideas? Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 2May 23, 2013 10:58 pm Not trying to teach you to suck eggs but did you check the transit bolts have been removed? Also check that the feet are all in contact with the floor and the machine is level, (check with a bubble level). A level, balanced machine shouldn't "walk" irrespective of floor. Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 3May 23, 2013 11:11 pm Yeah, we've had it working for 7 years with no issues, but maybe the new floor has something to do with it. They have recently been polished too when we moved in. The previous apartment had concrete floors. Checked from all sides and diagonal that the machine is level. Strange. Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 4May 23, 2013 11:33 pm Polished? That could be it, if it's not worn bearings. You could try a smal blob of blu-tac (I don't know if it's called that here) under the feet. Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 5May 24, 2013 9:56 am Yeah polished timber boards. It's done it from the first time we used it at our new place. I've taken it apart and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary or broken. Would concrete pavers under the feet also do the same job? They are quite heavy. I will try that tonight I think. Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 6May 24, 2013 1:55 pm I'd try to adjust the "feet" - but maybe use a non-slide mat ? Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 7May 25, 2013 8:06 pm I used a vibration pad from bunnings, $10 for 600mm x 600mm and it works fine. Still vibrates like buggery but doesn't move anymore... So that's a start. We'll just put up with it until it eventually dies. More important things to buy right now. Re: vibrating and moving washing machine 8May 25, 2013 8:36 pm Congratulations on taming the errant machine. When you do come to replace it, I can heartily recommend Miele washing machines. Whisper quiet, steady as a rock (has a cast iron 65Kg counterbalance) and great washing results.
