I've been using towel hooks for quite some time and you can be lot creative with these hooks. One need not have to tamper the tiles, just fix it accordingly away from the shower, so that it will be dry enough, and you can fix it in different alignments to make it unique. Check it out: http://www.dispenser.com/Robe-Hook/ I would always have a towel rail over a hook if possible. The towels dry a lot quicker and you have the option of a heated rail!
