Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 03, 2013 11:31 am Hi All, Our extension is just about complete and the last thing we need to organise is the shower screen. We want a semi-frameless shower screen, without a frame around the door or in the corner. I'm wondering whether anyone has any recommendations on brands etc. It seems that there are some cheap Chinese shower screens available that people have told me to steer clear of, but there are brands like Stegbar, Premium, Pivotech and Mirage that all seem to be around the same price ($1000). Is there anything I should look out for when choosing between them or are they all pretty much the same thing? Thanks. Re: Semi Frameless Shower Recommendations 2Apr 03, 2013 2:29 pm ,My mums are Stegbar, and they are fantastic, love them. Mine are Headband and I'm not a fan, they just aren't to the same standard. 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Semi Frameless Shower Recommendations 3Apr 03, 2013 2:40 pm We had Stegbar and we were very happy with it and they replaced a scratched screen no problem .. Almost all glass for shower screens comes from China. The cheaper ones are toughened in China and the more expensive screens are toughened in Australia. There is very little difference. FYI I just fitted out 3 bathrooms in my own house with frameless shower screens and was able to purchase all the glass, brackets and hinges for all 3 showers for less that $1000 This is the place I got them from http://www.auswidesupplies.com.au/conta ... nfo_2.html I have been very happy with the quality! Sorry! Mclaren We had Stegbar and we were very happy with it and they replaced a scratched screen no problem .. Thanks StellaBella and Mclaren, I've had Stegbar out this morning to do a measure and they seem pretty competitive on price. I'm going to look at their showroom on Saturday before I make my decision. The bloke that came out was really good, the only thing I don't like about their semi-frameless Grange is that the doors are 4mm (instead of the 6mm used for the other panels) and only 600mm wide. The Pivotech one I looked at had 6mm glass all round and an 800mm door. CuttingEdgeKitchens Little know fact. Almost all glass for shower screens comes from China. Thank CuttingEdgeKitchens, Those prices look great. My problem is that I need a custom made one with a half return to sit on a bath hob and I also need someone to install it for me. I think both the Stegbar and the Pivotech ones I am looking at are at least toughened here and also the aluminium extrusion is made in Australia.
