Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 29, 2013 9:51 pm For my new build I am thinking of going with a fully-frameless (doorless) shower screen for ensuite and bathroom. I like the idea of an easy to clean shower, however I am worried about the overspray etc and the possibility of the bathroom floors getting saturated. What dimensions would you recommend for the floor area of the shower? What length should the screen be to avoid too much overspray? Or do you mean a tiled walk-I'm shower? We are just starting our build and we are having a tiled walk-in shower. We chose this for ease of cleaning ie. I will get the grout colour sealed and we are using sealed tiles. The floor measures 900x2100. There is a 1000mm side entrance so I suppose the actual shower bit is 900x1100. It's a bit hard to explain.... Have a look at the plans in my thread or blog. I'm not concerned about water splashing into the bathroom as the walls go to the ceiling. The spray comes out about 1600mm off the wall but its only light at that point. I really depends on your room size and how you design the layout. I have a master ensuite with 1800m bath, double vanity, double shower & W.C. Ive made the shower area completely hobless & glass-less.....the vanity is 2.5 meters away - so that should be more than enough room to protect it and still give (hopefully) amazing big wide open shower space.... So 1600mm is probably the minimum to aim for, otherwise I should consider a door. Fortunately it is at the point where I can make adjustments to the room layout although should make a decision soon. It's perfect! We only have 3/4 walls, as my parents' have walls to the ceiling but no light gets in, so it's too dark. We have glass above the wall to stop any splashback. I think the door space is 850. I love it! 1st build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=59376 *New*-2nd build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70324&p=1154282#p1154282 Re: Size of shower space for fully-frameless (doorless) show 10Mar 31, 2013 10:11 am Hi Maximus Ours glass panel is 1.5 long and 2.1 high. The opening gap to walk through is 1m. We find this works really well for us.
