When will you do the ensuite? I am also in the process of arranging for a new kitchen, the ensuite will probably be a next year job as I think it will cost as much as my bathroom and kitchen combined ![]() Re: Need Advice for Reno 25Apr 28, 2008 2:12 pm Looks soooo much better, fantastic.
We almost used that same vanity in a rental property recently. The plumber had cut holes in the back and everything and then discovered that the shop had given us the wrong top and they didn't have the right one anywhere, so we had to return it and try to find another vanity which was a huge stress as the tenant was taking possession in a couple of days and we needed a vanity with left handed drawers. ![]() But back on topic, it's a huge improvement. Well done ![]() 'chelle We have a hand-over date...15/10...but I won't hold my breath! http://people-in-glass-houses.blogspot.com/ Re: Need Advice for Reno 26Apr 28, 2008 2:13 pm ![]() 100% improvement. Great job and good to see all your 'stuff' in the cupboard ![]() The room actually looks bigger withour the bath, and the toilet looks fine there. Nice choice of colours. Thanks Paula. I think it has come up pretty good, the tiles were actually my second choice as they had no stock of the first choice. The tiles I used were 30% more than my first pick (difference between made in indonesia and made in spain I guess) but I couldn't find anything else I liked at such short notice (plumber/tiler moved my job forward and gave me 48 hrs notice on a saturday). Re: Need Advice for Reno 28Apr 28, 2008 6:30 pm Very nice venno! ![]() Big difference, doesn’t look like the old bathroom at all. I had a look at the before and after shots of the bathroom, and i must say ...well done! It's come up a treat! I would have recommended an ixl for the bathroom heat and exhaust, but it seems you already knew about that. Re: Need Advice for Reno 30May 02, 2008 6:09 pm It looks great ![]() ![]() If I could ask a question of you guys please? Small ensuite, use big tiles? Also, should they go to the roof, will this open up the room more? The IXL was definately a must have for winter, mine may be faulty as the globe has just blown (or just unlucky as our power is not very stable around here). Also, should they go to the roof, will this open up the room more? Thanks for that. My tiling advice came from a sales lady at bathroom international. She reccomended large tiles to make the room look bigger and to lay them on their side (if rectangular). The feature series that goes with colour selection I picked was too expensive (25 a piece) so I just picked a dark version of the wall tiles and cut them to size. Also got told (by just about everyone) to tile right up to ceiling/cornice as the effect is so much better. Re: Need Advice for Reno 35May 06, 2008 1:11 pm ![]() hi venno, well done on your reno. I like the way you've laid the feature (grey) tiles in the shower - it looks really smart. Thanks Donuts, if I had the cash I would have used the feature tiles (a stone/pebble effect) that were part of the suite but this was a much cheaper option. Re: Need Advice for Reno 37May 12, 2008 7:57 pm My entire bathroom cost $8041. The labour component was $2200 for the plumber/tiler. He had to dig underneath the slab and run in a new pipe for the toilet waste, the toilet plumbing install alone took him 10hrs. All up he spent 5 days working on my bathroom, I did however gut it myself to save money.
