Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 16, 2008 9:37 pm Hi everyone
I've just discovered this great site and am already learning a few things! We'd love a spa bath but I'd like to know if people who have one are happy with it, and if not, what's the problem with them. I'm just not sure what to look out for and whether they're worth the extra money. Thanks Pauline Re: Spa Bath opinions please 2Apr 16, 2008 9:46 pm Hi Pauline
Welcome to the forum I don't have a spa - but my folks do and I love it. They have a corner option which I prefer over the oval/rounder ones, there is much more space in it and I think they look nicer too... Just my opinion Cheers Bel Re: Spa Bath opinions please 3Apr 16, 2008 10:07 pm Hi Bel
I appreciate your opinion. I'm hoping to find out if they're as wonderful as they look. I'm assuming they all pump "warm" air rather than cool. Anyway, I look forward to more opinions or advice. Thanks Pauline Re: Spa Bath opinions please 4Apr 16, 2008 11:35 pm Love my spa but here is some serious food for thought.
The taps installed in your new house will provide between 7-10 litres per minute if you have a five star rating. The average spa is around 250 litres to get above the jets to a comfortable level. Thats between 25 and 35 minutes to fill to just above the jet line. You need to really a) want a spa b) be really patient whilst it fills c) let the whole family use it to make it worthwhile for the fill up! lolol! I do love my spa though Re: Spa Bath opinions please 5Apr 17, 2008 7:41 pm Thanks Matt for that info as I hadn't thought about the water saving aspect of things. I think if we bought one we'd look for a model that uses a little less water if it doesn't compromise the experience. I'm wondering about the power of the jets too and whether they're anywhere near as strong as the public spas at hotels etc.
Pauline Re: Spa Bath opinions please 6Apr 17, 2008 8:41 pm Hi Pauline,
Our new house is going to have a spa, but it is only as big as a bath, so not as much water needed. Luckily both DH and I both fit in a normal bath so we will be able to share the spa experience It also had head rests. Hubby decided he needed a spa. So we are getting the bath with the jets thing. What I don't have is two of those gorgeous head rests - can you add them on? Fi has moved in!! Dont know it you can add on permanent ones on, but you can get blow up one to lay your head on when in the bath. Paula Re: Spa Bath opinions please 14Apr 23, 2008 10:12 pm we optioned a spa more for resale purposes, our house is a 3 bed so could service a family for resale time, to make up for the small bathroom and having a shower over bath we got a nice big 850 x 1800 bath, the price difference to a spa was less than $500 basically the price of pump and heater really.
Not being a corner spa means it can fit two people but we opted for one with a square end because of the shower so really its a one person event. Used it once after 6 months, at the moment we haven't installed our tank and while we use far less than average because of no garden and only running the dishwasher every few days and frugal washer/dishwasher i still feel guilty loading up that much water to flush down the drain. PS love the head rests ... Re: Spa Bath opinions please 15Apr 23, 2008 10:15 pm Quote: What I don't have is two of those gorgeous head rests - can you add them on? You typed in a with 2x s's after it instead of add and the program has censored you.... LOL..... If you're not sure and you get censored, go back into your post via the edit tab and see what you originally typed in? 3 3561 Bathroom renovation will likely include a back-to-corner bath and we’re considering a freestanding tap with hand-held shower such as the picture included.
