Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 28, 2013 2:58 pm Hi all We are looking at putting something similar to the below in our bathrooms. Our ones will sit on the floor like a standard vanity. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them? I can't seem to find much information on them and I can't find anyone else who sells something like them, which of course makes you wonder http://www.renovationd.com.au/monaco-1200mm-vanity-wall-hung-green-toughen-glass-basin-p-1206.html Thanks in advance Em Re: Vanity information please 2Jan 28, 2013 5:42 pm They are ok, but no where near the quality you would get from a cabinet maker. If I build a vanity I build a carcuss first and then fit end panels and door to it. It is all nailed, screwed and glued together. THe cheap vanitys have the outside face of the carcuss sprayed and then fix the doors to it. They are usually cam and dowelled together. You can spot one a mile off! It happened to me. It was very messy and could have been worse had there been someone in the bathroom at the time. I didn't know it was possible but I do now. Re: Vanity information please 5Jan 28, 2013 8:33 pm I saw your post Suh but your top looked different to the one I am after. I really don't want the same experience you had (especially with a 2 1/2 year old in the house) but I am hoping that an all in one will be a bit tougher rather than a glass top with a ceramic bowl on top. Wishful thinking????? Re: Vanity information please 6Jan 28, 2013 8:39 pm That glass looks thicker than mine but it wasn't supposed to happen (apparently) and mine was the same setup as in the Reece showroom, so, I wouldn't risk it myself but I guess that is because I've experienced it Re: Vanity information please 7Jan 29, 2013 9:55 am Emmsiek Thanks CEK - you are a wealth of knowledge as always I value your opinion and response and appreciate you taking the time.
