Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Ceiling fans with light. 2Jan 29, 2013 8:42 am We purchased 5 Futura fan/lights and three remotes from Beacon and they cost just under $1k, they are quite sturdy and not too noisy. We checked cheaper brands elsewhere but weren't impressed and chose to pay more for better quality. It will cost you $100+ to have each fan installed Regards, Grumbles Re: Ceiling fans with light. 4Jan 29, 2013 1:29 pm In 2004/5 we built an open plan Eden Brae in southwest Sydney and our last full bill was $1,050 so when we headed south we decided to forgo the ducted air. We have two split systems and the fans and it cost about $6k to set up. The fan/lights cost about 2 cents an hour to run and ducted air costs $2 so easy decision. I love it when you go to bed on a hot night with the fan on low, it is so much more pleasant than the arctic blast from the vents. We'll be replacing oysters (I hate them!) All the houses I've been in have had cheap ceiling fans (two settings, kinda movins some air and omg the roof is gonna come down!) so what's the difference with more expensive models? Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Re: Ceiling fans with light. 7Feb 10, 2013 10:04 am We're getting clipsal.
