Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jan 11, 2013 1:33 pm We have just bought a place and for some reason the previous owners did not put a wall on the ensuite. It is completely open so you see EVERYTHING iykwim. We want to put a wall up and I was thinking instead of the traditional wall, tiling, etc, we could just do a frosted glass wall with sliding door. However, as always, we are on a budget. And I'm completely new to the Reno game so no idea which would be more cost effective. What do you think? And who would do this? Bathroom company? Glass company? Someone else?? If you are on a budget though it will probably work out cheaper to build a traditional wall with a door .... Re: Ensuite: glass wall or traditional wall 4Jan 11, 2013 8:56 pm Aaah. Me too, but I suspect u may be right about cost. Have a guy quoting over the weekend and another on Tuesday. Trying to get a quote for a traditional wall and door but builder has been delayed. Even if its close I'd probably go for glass but I'm thinking it will be too exy. Boooo! We haven't done anything just yet - a few other urgent things came up. However we will be going with the glass option. The price from what I recall was around $2400. The traditional plasterboard option was going to be about $1800-$2k, depending on what price we'd get for tiles and a tiler. So the glass option is more exy, but for the look of it, we think its worth it! When we eventually get it done, I'll be sure to post some pics Re: Ensuite: glass wall or traditional wall 7Apr 20, 2013 7:44 pm ^^ Like* !! I'm glad you're going that way, the difference isn't a real lot of $$'s and I think it's one of those things where if you didn't get the glass you'll be regretting it for a long time later !! P_D * Yeah, I know....Wrong Social Media Forum, but sometimes you've just got to go with what they give you .
