I have just come back from the house, all internal and external batts are in now. External "ceiling" (?) and cement sheet above windows also have nailed in. they look good. I am going to upload some of the pictures in the "my turn" thread. Thanks again to you all. Re: NO PLACE for towel rail!!!!! 22Apr 10, 2008 9:58 am This is the over the door towell hanger I'm using at present.
I have been on the lookout for the towell ladder as seen. Thanks for the heads up on Adairs I haven't checked there yet. I think it was just a Target Job at $29.95.
But then when I couldn't put the towell rail I bought for my bathroom on the wall because we put a slider cavity on the toilet the wall is not strong enough to hold the rail. I have the wall but no studs!! Re: NO PLACE for towel rail!!!!! 25Apr 10, 2008 11:40 am Hi. You don't need to put the towel rail into studs. As long as you've go gyprock covering your walls you can use these to anchor:
http://www2.mullings.com.au/DisplayProd ... o=01808900 These also work if you have depth problems, though not as well: http://www.endeavourtools.com.au/cleara ... ll_anchors Or these: http://www.macsim.com.au/Products/Ancho ... anchor.php Re: NO PLACE for towel rail!!!!! 27Apr 10, 2008 12:27 pm Some of those will need some measure of depth behind them, they all have specs as to how far.
These are not quite as good as any of those but they don't stick out the other side of the gyprock much at all, and can be trimmed: http://www.itwproline.com.au/Hollow-Wal ... fault.aspx I don't really like them for high use towel rail type stuff, but they're very handy for hanging a lot of other things. See "Threaded Drywall Anchor" section here for installation details: http://www.naturalhandyman.com/iip/inff ... nchor.html Re: NO PLACE for towel rail!!!!! 29Apr 10, 2008 8:17 pm oznow,
Now that you are well progressed on where to put the towel rail, I'll present the next problem in your bathroom. Where do you put the toilet paper roll holder? Hint, you don't want to reach behind you to get the toilet paper. Thanks for reminder, it might be another problem. I will raise this issue to the builder. I assume it should it be either on the left of right side of the toilet suite. Beside that we will install the toilet bidet seat (wish wash and drying function). Re: NO PLACE for towel rail!!!!! 31Jun 23, 2008 3:30 pm I have the bamboo ladder and used it (only once) as a towel rail holder. It stained the towels so be careful with your purchase if going with that option.
I like the towel rail in the robe option also. Although it might be a pain not having it within reaching distance when you get out of the shower. I think the towel rail in front of the door will look too bulky as you walk into the bathroom and in my opinion will start to make the bathroom look smaller.
