The builder was supposed to use a Smart tile ( bermuda smart tile) drain in my bathroom and shower. He has instead used chrome drains..... Pull the cover of the drain off and you should be able to see the old pipe. If your fingers are long enough you should be able to feel the lip of the drain pipe and the old pipe. You should be able to work out the approximate size of the old pipe from this. Use a reducer I asked the builder to use a reducer. He says that the a reducer cannot be used. pipe still too small. But that is the idea of a reducer, to allow a bigger pipe to fit into a smaller pipe! I'd be slightly worried if my shower drain pipes were smaller than 50mm. If you have already paid for the Smart Tile you may be due a refund as chrome drains are usually cheaper to buy and install. We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds.
