Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Nov 18, 2012 4:00 pm How long does a normal bathroom renovation take? Can you provide approximations for both big and small bathrooms? Will much appreciate your opinions.. Re: Bathroom Renovation.... 2Nov 18, 2012 4:46 pm It would depend on a lot of factors. Like the size of job more than size of bathroom, how organized you and your tradies are. If you're just replacing tiles and fixtures without plumbing. You do it in a few days. On day to remove existing tiles and fixtures. A day (probably less to paint) another day or 2 (depending on size) to tile. Then a day to install cabinets and fixtures. Thats my estimate on how long each job would take so if you have all trades organized one after the other you can do it pretty quick. When we do renos we rip out the bathroom on the first day. So Day 1 ripout, jackhammer up floortiles etc. Day 2- plumbing if needed to move, regyprock if needed/ Set bath, Day3 waterproof Day 4 second coat waterproof Day 5 tiles (all or floor) then wall Day 6 grout Day 7- put in shower, toilet, vanity. Nothing quick about it if it's a full reno. That's if you can get the tradies to come on consecutive days. Re: Bathroom Renovation.... 4Nov 19, 2012 7:16 am You need to allow atleast 2 weeks for a full reno. It can take longer depending on the site, materials and whats uncovered when the old bathroom is stripped out.
