Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 31, 2012 10:10 am Hi, I'm not sure what you call them, but I was wanting to put something in the shower when we build that I can rest my foot on for shaving etc...I'm not sure what the different options are? I have been told you can buy tiles with the footrest/step thing on them and when they tile the wall they put that on. Thanks Mel-Lou Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 3Oct 31, 2012 8:00 pm I know what you mean. I haven't seen them in any new designs though. My hubby wants one. I thought they were old fasdhioned (he's old LOL). I'm tile shopping at the moment. I'll ask and get back to you if I find anything. Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 4Oct 31, 2012 10:19 pm Big A Plumbing stores have corner bars that just go screw into the grout/wall I had a tiled one years ago when I did a reno but we are building and having this: Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 5Nov 01, 2012 5:49 am My other half wants a footrest in our planned reno too but I'm going to build either a recess in at about 400mm off the floor or have a small diagonal shelf at the same height in one corner of the shower. Stewie Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 6Nov 01, 2012 1:06 pm We've got something in our plan similar to Donna - a tiled seat at 500mm high. DH wanted something he could sit on when his back/knees/everything is sore and I wanted something to sit on or put my foot on while I shave. We have it positioned adjacent to the shower rail/head. Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 7Nov 06, 2012 11:19 pm You can go with the bench seat idea if you have room, or you can get the brickie to brick in a small angled shelf. Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 8Nov 16, 2012 3:40 pm I know what you mean, I had a friend put one in (who I don't really see any more but if I do I will ask her) It was right in the tile and same color and it was about the width of her foot, she used it for shaving her legs, it was maybe 60 cm off the tile floor. For ideas type "shaving foot tile" into google images, the is a bunch of different ones that come up. Have you asked a tile shop? Re: Footrest in shower? any ideas? 9Nov 16, 2012 7:54 pm One of the display homes in the new Kellyville village has a step in the shower. I can't remember which one it was between Wisdom, Provincial, Fowler or Wincrest. We put a corner seat in - so you could do that - or a bench seat as others have suggested. I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
