Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 15, 2012 6:52 pm Hi. We have a small bathroom and are looking for the biggest (frameless) shower possible in the space - which is a 940 x 940 mm corner shower. We can either get one custom made for about an extra $1000, or get a standard 900mm one. Is it worth that for an extra 40mm? Our quote was from Euroglass (10mm thick glass), so please feel free to advise me of anyone else to try that may carry irregular sizes or custom make. We are yet to try Stegbar. Thanks. Has the room been tiled yet?? I didnt bother with the ugly chrome brakcets most shower screen companys use. I put U channel aluminium angle in the wall. The frameless glass then slides into the chanel giving a need fameless and bracketless look. It also means that a 950x950mm show becomes 940x940! Why didn't our builder suggest that? I no nothing about showers so didn't even know that was an option - but it makes a lot of sense. Much appreciated! It's not tiled yet, will be doing a complete reno at the same time. Hi, just bumping this thread as I'm looking for a frameless shower screen fixed to the wall/ceiling/floor. It will need to be 2700h x 995w. CuttingEdgeKitchens - is the U channel recessed into the wall or can you see it sticking out? What's standard practice for installation? We want the look as seamless as possible so I think this would really set one quote apart from the other! Cheers. The tiles are flush with it. Once the glass is in its hard to notice the channel. Standard practise is to install the shower screens after tiling with large chrome brackets screwed to the tiles and then large silicon seals from the glass to the wall. My method means you dont need to use the chrome brackets or see the large amounts of silicone! Now the challenge of getting sucks big screen into a 2.4x1.695 bathroom!! When you do it for a living its actually alot easier than it sounds. Best think with glass is its so thin! Only 10mm. I have had some wardrobe cabinets 2600mm long x 1000mm wide by 600mm deep. Now they are tricky to get into some rooms!
