Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Oct 12, 2012 1:07 pm We're about to install new showers as part of our bathroom renos, looking at the option of walking straight in without having to open any doors. Bunnings have solid 10mm thick glass panels in various widths - what is the minimum width without having water splashing out of the shower? I am looking at the 875mm wide version with a showerhead coming out of the wall about 20-30cm so I can ever so slightly swivel the shower head back towards the wall it extends from, i.e. not facing out towards the opening of the shower. Any suggestions? Re: Shower screen width - how much 2Oct 12, 2012 8:30 pm hi. designers say 1800mm and that is a lot. i think this is over the top. but. 1. you will have water on the floor. 2. does that matter? is the floor sealed under tiles. like waterproof membrane? 3. the glass is set size. gotta go with the flow for economy good luck Re: Shower screen width - how much 4Oct 14, 2012 8:54 pm Ours in our new house is 2100 x 1500 x 12mm Settlement 1/2/12 New Shed 23/3/12 Slab poured 27/3/12 Frame complete 4/5/12 Roof complete 1/6/12 LOCKUP 29/6/12 Our new build blog http://kareenhillsownerbuild.blogspot.com/ Re: Shower screen width - how much 5Oct 15, 2012 6:20 am We have two walk in showers. They both have 1100mm wide screens. You get a little bit of splash but not that much. 1500mm piece of glass is huge. I think that 1100-1200mm wide looks so much better. The little bit of splash is delt with easily when picking the bath mat up! You could replace it with laminated safety glass but make sure it has AS standards logo on it 1 11163 Thanks again for this information.
