Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 3Mar 20, 2013 9:44 am havent purchased yet but will be doing in a couple of months.... I spoke to the plumber to check that all is legal and the one I was looking at (ebay) were fine. I think some are probably not legal, but as we are owner building and being inspected by our council for the final - it all has to be just so.... I dont see a problem with leaking - as they are a self contained unit, and probably work out cheaper than actually completely building a tiled shower, plus you get all the massaging bits etc etc... Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 4Mar 20, 2013 9:18 pm i would go as far to say that they are illegal, im not 100% but im a plumber and anything we get that has a flexible hose we never ever use it, and replace it with normal legal plumbing... so while you cant use the flexible drainage, you can generally unscrew it and get a plumber to install it the legal way. Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 5Mar 20, 2013 9:55 pm sorry - just meant that if they dont have the wels mark etc they are not legally supposed to be installed..... Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 6May 02, 2013 8:09 am chatterbox Hi, Looking at buying one of the all singing massage shower cubicles from ebay (will buy the ones with wells certification etc) one of the ads says that a flexible hose (for the drainage) is illegal? but many of the others advertise that is what the shower comes with - obviously so you dont have to line up exactly with the drainage hole.... Are flexible hoses illegal??? Has anyone bought any of these massage cubicles...and is so which ones and what thoughts/results/reviews??? Thanks hello, jim from roundbathcompany here any item you purchase should carry all relevant australian standards approvals mwsdb electrical building code for your safety always use a licensed tradesman to instal when buying check availability of spare parts/warranty fully read installation instructions before purchasing Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 7Apr 17, 2015 6:57 pm Hi Chatterbox - did you end up buying a shower cubicle and if so, how did it turn out? Were you able to use a flexible drainage hose? I have bought one and am about to install it but the plumber said there has been issues with some of these. He had heard they break down and then are hard to replace as everything is built in. Have you had any issues? Thanks Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 8Apr 17, 2015 7:05 pm yew we did and it was installed with no problem.. however we have STILL not moved into the house, so we havent yet given it any use... Re: massage shower cubicle (ebay) 12Jun 28, 2015 6:22 pm Unfortunately we haven't installed it yet. We have two bathrooms to renovate and have finished one. Having a break now but should start the second one soon. I will post a photo of it once it is installed but won't be for a little while as we have to gut the bathroom and tile before we install it.
