TOILET SUITE - Which one?

What do you think of the foll brands and if anyone has bought them and dont mind me asking what did you pay?

At the bath products shop they keep telling me that the Parisi is very good- (maybe they like the soft close seat!!!!!!!!)

1.Fowler Newport

2. Caroma Trident

3.Parisi Envy Mk2

Friends bought a wall hung suite so it would be easier to clean underneath as it did not touch the floor.
But it cost them $1500 for the pleasure.
Whatever you get, make sure it;s Australian is all I'd say.

Another major good quality brand is Villeroy & Boch.

Two contendors on my short list are:
Caroma Caravelle 2000 suite $550 retail
Villeroy & Boch Omnia Pro Back-to-wall toilet suite $849 retail

Prices from Cass Brothers in Sydney.

we're going standard Caroma we get from the builder

if you're thinking of one of those wall mounted ones though consider what weight they are going to take - if hubby is a big guy - even just like front rower football big or if a larger person lives in the house then they have a weight limit to what they can take - you don't want them cracking from the wall .... also I know that my great aunt hates the one that is in my cousins place, she doesn't trust it cause to her it doesn't look secure cause it doesn't touch the ground (she is well into her late 90's so I guess she is entitled to some quirks!) ...

definately - I mean my Aunt probably weighs like 50kgs if she was dripping wet but its the whole appearance of the thing she doesn't like....

I'm a little more ummm well rounded, so its a nice ground anchored toilet in my house!

We have chosen the Fowler Regent suites in our place but are yet to be installed. We paid something like $350ea to upgrade them so they probably retail for about $400 :roll:

We liked the Regent shape better than the Newport, but from what I can gather they are basically the same.

Fiona, Dee Elle- I think if you ever had it had the back of your mind that the wall hung ones could at sometime... overtime.. not bear your weight... the relaxing toilet experience would never be the the same...... !!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Cass Brothers store I went to is at 600 Parramatta Road (cnr Palace Street) Petersham. They also have stores in Waverly and Cremorne.

Do you think that "Just china" holding your but to the wall?

Have no fear - there is some pretty strong strengthening in there.

We went for the Fowler Newport.. it's an upgrade for $700 each.
WE checked the specs and liked it.
Very water efficient too (WELS 4 stars).

ahhh but it can never be as strong as something sitting on the ground ... and as we said - if you have even the slightest stress about it, you'll never relax - and that just ain't healthy :lol:

Well - you could always go for the asian squat model.

It stops people falling asleep while on it :shock:

and it's actually very healthy and good for the body too.

But somehow - we westerners just don't like the idea of them in our homes.

I used the one below in Tibet on the side of the Dali Lama's Potola palace. Just for a number 1 - believe me - looking down the 400 feet to the ground below made sure you didn' slip :shock:

wow that view is amazing .... however I think the major requirement of any toilet that is going in my house is a seat .... you need to make it as simple as possible so that in the middle of the night you're not tempting fate!
