Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Shower Screen gone wrong 16Sep 21, 2012 7:44 am chatterbox I reckon you should send a letter to the builder and shower screen people saying you will be placing the matter in legal hands within 7 days if the matter is not put right - see what happens...and go to the master builders assoc as well. I hate the attitude of most tradies - they really dont give a toss..whatever is the easiest solution....Its a no brainer to put the shower door away from the opening door...but then many tradies dont seem to have a brain either..... Am I being cynical....YES.... While I agree with what you have said about where the door was placed I dont agree with "I hate the attitude of most tradies-they really dont give a toss" Do you really think most tradies are like this?? I think it would be more likely a few of the tradies that work for the large volume companys might not "give a toss". I employee alot of different trades all the time and they are all great. They show up on time, do a good job and clean up! Unfortunately in this case the door wasnt marked on the plans. This was missed by the builder, the owner and the shower screen company. The person that measured it up should have asked the builder or owner. Sometimes with large volume houses the builder/site forman makes the call. I agree its in the wrong position. I have just finished having my house built with a large volume company and found a number of mistakes on the plans just like this one. I sent the plans back with red pen all over them with changes I wanted noted on the plans. Unfortunately when we give our final signature we are saying we have read and understood the plans fully. Alot of people dont really understand the plans and issues like this are missed.
