Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Aug 27, 2012 2:47 pm Hi! We are renovating our bathroom to incorporate a large cupboard laundry. Size is yet to be determined, but somewhere between 1.6 and 2.2 metres long. The laundry cupboard area will be next to the shower, and have a decent sized dividing wall between them. The shower width is 1m, so the depth of the laundry is up to 1m so my understanding is I could have large doors of up to 1m slide back into the side of the cupboard without much overhang at all. My husband and the builders we have spoken to want me to use bifold door to close in this space, but I am heart-set on pocket hinged doors that will be concealed within the side of the cupboard when they are open, rather than stacked up on the outside of the cabinets. As I expect the doors will be open 95% of the time, I think the pocket/hideaway/flipper doors are the most convenient, and clean looking option. I've found a smartpack flat pack (http://www.smartpackkit.com.au/laundry) option that describes what I want, but they only have 2 sizes, and while I could buy two and have them side by side, it isn't my preference (I want a single benchtop, not two). Has anyone done something similar for their laundry cupboards? Do you have pics/links/manufacturer/builder contacts you mind sharing? I'm running out of time to get the doors for the laundry organised before the builder comes, otherwise I have to settle for bifolds (and I don't want them). I don't want to spend all this money on a reno I will constantly look back and think "I wish I did it this way instead". Please, please help me! Thanking you in advance Re: Pocket hinge doors 4 cupboard laundry.Where did U get yo 2Aug 27, 2012 5:55 pm I hate the pocket door mechs. They work ok but if you dont open the door to exactly 90degrees they can scratch the face of your doors. I have used a set that was great but they cost over $1700 for the kit. I personally would use Bi-fold doors. Set and forget. They will last years and years! Thanks for getting back to me - here and via email Given that a division would (obviously) divide the bench space, it would defeat the purpose! It is looking more and more likely that my husband will win with the bifold door option. Ah, well. I tried. Thanks again for your advice.
