Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jul 22, 2012 9:25 am Hi - we've been planning a bathroom reno and every time I google a question I seem to end up here so I'm hoping to get some help with the placement of our feature tiles. I have no idea how to do the image link but I've tried 2 different ways below so hopefully one will work so you can see the plan and the tiles Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ http://s760.photobucket.com/albums/xx244/sulu/ Originally we thought a vertical strip between the shower rail and corner in the shower and another between the bath spout and the wall. We also though the feature could be used in the shower box recess. Also a horizontal strip between the vanity and the mirror. The vanity is a white wall hung with a black ceaserstone top. If we go with that plan it leaves a small cut tile on the shower wall between the feature strip and corner if that makes sense. Where do tilers prefer to start wall tiles/where should the cuts go? The wall and floor tiles are 300x600 apart from the shower floor which has to be 300x300. The features are 300 square sheets. I'd like 200 wide strips really but this increases the cost and will the create waste I guess. Will the tiler use the 100 bits and run them together? Maybe We should just use 150 strips? So many questions sorry - all opinions welcome thanks! Re: Bathroom Feature tile advice 3Jul 22, 2012 11:11 am Yes tiling all the walls in the white polished tile to 2000mm - VJs above on old Queenslander that has a part raked ceiling. Floor tiles black polished. The feature tile has bits of the floor tile running through it. Probably run the 300x600 landscape but open to ideas. Possibly both depending on the sizing. Idea of working from the centre is that you dont have a 20mm thin tile at one end and a 400mm at the other end.
