Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 04, 2012 6:50 pm I wanted some help on here before I question the builder tomorrow and may end up looking a little silly as I really don't know what is the correct way. Went to check the house today and the water proofing was done and there is a 1 inch plastic or metal strip dividing my shower in the ensuite. It seems very high? And noticed the strip across the doorway is a lot smaller. Is this what needs to be done if I want the tiles to be flat with no step as we are just having a half glass framless panel with the shower entry left open? I had told them I didnt want any step just left flat, but as this is our first build I am not sure if this is what has to be done? 2/2010 8 acres purchased 11/2011 plans submitted 3/2012 plans approved 13/4 slab done 16/5 brickwork and roof finished 4/6 lock up 29/6 kitchen and bathrooms in 30/6 currently painting Re: Does this sound right for a shower with no hob? 2Jun 04, 2012 7:00 pm I have just returned from looking at my house and have the exact same thing, we are also having just a frameless piece of glass with a grate drain. I wondered why at the entrance to the shower it was at least 2cm high but at the doorway it is only about 1cm. All our showers are the same, so maybe it is right Re: Does this sound right for a shower with no hob? 4Jun 04, 2012 8:48 pm They need to bed the floor to bring it up to the highest point of the shower floor being where the wet seal angle is. From that height there will be fall to the waste. No nothing to worry about. Re: Does this sound right for a shower with no hob? 5Jun 04, 2012 9:18 pm Thanks for your help, I was hoping that was the right way, but not knowing how it was done I was a little worried. 6Jun 06, 2012 8:39 am I have just fitted out 3 bathrooms. One with a square 900x900 1 door shower and the other two are 1100mm single glass blade walk in showers (no door) In the 900x900 shower the aluminium shower angle was the same height as the angle in the door way. With the other two bathrooms I didnt have any angle in the shower area. I would be very suprised if the shower angle was higher than the door angle. Are you sure?? It makes perfect sense. You want to keep the water inside the shower, the higher the edge on the shower ther more fall they can put to the waste and still maintain a min bed thickness at the waste. Re: Does this sound right for a shower with no hob? 9Jun 13, 2012 8:18 pm Well was told today we are having a shower with no hob. But it will have a small metal strip across the bottom. Not what I was picturing but i can live with it. 2/2010 8 acres purchased 11/2011 plans submitted 3/2012 plans approved 13/4 slab done 16/5 brickwork and roof finished 4/6 lock up 29/6 kitchen and bathrooms in 30/6 currently painting Hello I'm remodeling my kitchen and evaluating ideas.
