Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Jun 04, 2012 2:16 pm Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix the hinges to a roman above bath shower screen? The screen moves constantly and doesn't stay in place. I don't own my apartment and it was installed before I moved in. The owner has been extremely unhelpful. Let me try and describe the screen as perhaps it is something I have missed looking at or I need some special tool someone knows about. The hinge is made of aluminium and the screen is glass. I have looked to see if there are any screws at the top and bottom of the hinges that might need tightening but inside the hinge there is no such screw but rather a screw with it's "head" missing instead. The other screws that are located running along the hinge aren't the type that you could screw with a screwdriver is they are the round type with a hole in the middle like a press stud if that makes sense. If anyone can envisage what I am talking about and has some advice that would be great. Much appreciated Re: Tightening hinges to roman bath shower screen? 2Jul 10, 2012 10:23 am Can you provide pictures? A lot of shower screen hinges are hex screw so you'd need an allen key. depending on the cutouts in the glass to accomodate the hinge this can be a common problem. 2 4475 Yes, I had already tried searching those. In the end I am fabricating my own. 4 4158 Your shower screen has failed in the way it is designed to fail with tempered glass. You could replace it with laminated safety glass but make sure it has AS standards logo on it 1 11161 |
