Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 May 22, 2012 10:09 am Hi everyone, I'm about to get my Laundry and WC completed and am stuck about what to do with the skirting tiles. The laundry cabinetry is white, the splashback will be 300x600 white tiles, and the rest of the walls will be painted in an off white (eg hog bristle 1/4). The floor tiles are travertine looking. So do I do the skirting tile in the same tile as the floor, or do I run some white tiles as a skirt tile? And if I do the floor tile as a skirting, what should be on the edge where it meets the wall? Thanks for your help. Re: Skirting tiles - Same as floor 2May 22, 2012 10:25 am There are no hard rules. What we decided is to put the wall tile on the walls - including skirting. Floor tile only for the floors. In the end, I don't think it makes a lot of difference (if any), whichever way you go. My signature is distracting people from my wise posts ... Re: Skirting tiles - Same as floor 3May 22, 2012 2:34 pm I would use the floor tiles as you are going with an off white. Do you have any cabinets in the laundry or wc? If so what are you using for their kickboard? Re: Skirting tiles - Same as floor 4May 26, 2012 9:20 am It will look better using the floor tiles as a skirt. If you were to use the same tiles as the splash back then I reckon it would look far too busy having floor, skirting, painting wall, vanity and then splash tiles. Would only use wall tiles if I was tiling from floor to above the vanity, then use them everywhere in the room. Joe Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. If you haven't sorted this already you need to caulk this gap. Not sure where you are but if you are in Sydney I can… 5 4345 7 3006 |
