Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Apr 22, 2012 9:09 am Have moved into a new house and it appears that the previous own dumped some kind of adhesive/building material down the toilet which has left and unsightly stain on the inside of the bowl (makes it look like the toilet hasn't been cleaned). I have tried to remove it using various cleaners including bleach (to see if I couldn't whiten it if it couldn't be removed) but without success. Can anyone suggest what I should do? Re: Cleaning the toilet 2Apr 22, 2012 9:39 am You could possibly try thinners, just be sure to open as many doors and windows as you can! I would be worried that it might damage the finish on the bowl, but what ever it is has possibly already done that! The easy way out would be a cheap new toilet, at least it would sparkle! 2 Re: Cleaning the toilet 4Apr 22, 2012 11:42 am I would try CLR, It is safe and your problem could just be a build up of calcium or lime Re: Cleaning the toilet 5Apr 22, 2012 10:41 pm Citric acid over night works well!
