Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Mar 23, 2012 4:34 pm G'day I am seeking views on removal of wall tile adhesive from AC backing wall in laundry. I have removed some loose tiles (12) around my laundry tub and will be retiling at a later date. I have been able to remove most of the wall tile adhesive from the backing wall without disturbing/damaging the wall. There are some areas where the adhesive is "gluey" and difficult to remove. I have spot tested with some WD40 spray which seems to dry the gluey effect and makes removal of residual adhesive easier. I am now contemplating using WD40 on the remaining "gluey" areas. My concern is, will the WD40 be absorbed into the AC sheeting and create problems with new adhesive sticking when retiling later? Views would be appreciated.
