Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 28, 2008 9:40 pm Hi All,
I saw some nice toilet suites the other day where the cistern is 'invisible' ie. hidden inside the wall. As we have a smallish bathroom this type of toilet suite could make it look 'bigger'. My concern is if there is a problem with the cistern how hard would it be to access it or to fix it? enigma Re: Cisterns behind the wall 2Feb 28, 2008 9:45 pm These are great…….I will look up my info for you.
Best way to go about it is to have a panel on the wall, so you can access your cistern. Did anyone else notice - the forum's clock just seemed to fix itself? Re: Cisterns behind the wall 5Feb 28, 2008 9:54 pm ok, now I seem stupid as there an hour behind again - Re: Cisterns behind the wall 6Feb 28, 2008 10:06 pm I saw a 'red-neck' version of this in a house we looked at once.
It had been renovated by an avid DIY. What he lacked in intelligence, was made up for in ideas...... The cistern was the regular type, but mounted on the other side of the wall behind the toilet - which formed part of the new built in wardrobe. I got my wife to flush it, and the hissing noise of it filling up was unbearable in the bedroom! There were lots more kooky ideas in that place, and there was no way in hell I was buying it! I would love them but thought I would not go for them as they would be hard to acess...now Quote: You can also be lucky if it backs on to a linen press or walk-in-robe etc. - there is no issue with it in those rooms BACK to the drawing board... Caroma are doing a really nice one…..talk to the sales person. It’s not that hard to do a tiled, invisible panel, it’s done all the time with commercial work. I have had my cistern 20 years, only now is it giving me grief and needs to be looked at. That’s not bad! Could any of these be asbestos? Best to leave as it is or clean up? Thank you for your thoughts 0 8071 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that.
