I'm looking at a vanity unit on ebay that says the top is made from polymarble. Can anyone tell me what this is?
Does it look cheap and nasty?

Plastic. Greg Re: What is polymarble? 4Mar 28, 2008 4:17 pm We have a vanity with poly marble - I didn't notice until the plumber pointed it out. You have to be careful not to let the water get too hot - above 60C- or else the warranty is void. We had to have a little thingy put on the end of our tap that cuts the water off when it gets to 60 - really annoying as it then takes 5 minutes to work again, although it is safer for the kids. Putting a 'mixer' in the wall wasn't an option for us as it is double brick (although I think this is now standard in new homes??)
We will never get polymarble again, we can already see a couple of little 'blisters' and scratches in the plastic on one side. Will most probably have porcelain in the new house as I don't think our budget will stretch to corian in the bathroom.
