Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry Re: Update bathroom? 22Feb 27, 2008 11:04 am Michelle d@n Buyers can find plenty of things to leave disappointed. Unmatching bathrooms would be low on the list. True…..but why add more to their list. We're talking major cost here and there's no guarantee the buyer will like it. To be honest, I think both bathrooms look a bit dated to me....(sorry) People should expect to be disappointed when buying 2nd hand properties. Re: Update bathroom? 23Feb 27, 2008 11:09 am d@n
And you wouldn’t be disappointed with the pink bathroom as apposed to the new one???? No offence Paula……. I know I would, and I’m a very practical person. Obviuosly you have to have realistic expectations - you don't expect an old house to have everything brand new or perfect - but its exciting to have it your own place and over time you upgrade and renovate things. We've enjoyed doing that for 20 years on a house built in 1959. And d@n, you'll probably find my new house will be 'dated' before it even starts, I admit I have fairly conservative tastes and not wanting ultra-modern style. To each his (her) own. Re: Update bathroom? 27Feb 27, 2008 8:48 pm Quite truthfully….while your at your design stage of your house…putting all your selections together, by the time you get it built, some of those selections may have dated in that very short time of space! So what do you do….move in rip it out and start again……I think not.
Trend…..if you follow it you will go broke and stupid in the process. The point I was trying to make was that you shouldn't expect everything to be perfect in a home that's had several years (or more) of use. That's fair enough and apologies for my comment if you were offended. Re: Update bathroom? 32Feb 28, 2008 9:34 am I was not offended, sorry if I sounded too defensive.

I was also just pointing out that not everyone is into really modern anyway. Re: Update bathroom? 33Feb 28, 2008 10:42 pm Bunnings is more flexible and cheaper.
