Browse Forums Bathrooms and Laundry 1 Feb 23, 2012 3:25 pm Hi, I have my heart set on the Laminex Seductive Limba Crystal Gloss for my laundry benchtop. I know that quite a few people have used it for cupboards and back panels of island benches, AND I also know that Laminex dont recommend it for benchtops, I'm guessing that is due to the risk of getting scratched easily.... BUT I currently have a gloss laminate on my kitchen benches (not crystal gloss) and it still looks good after 5 years. I was told I would regret using it, but I have had so many compliments, and many people think its solid stone at first glance. I guess I'm fairly careful and dont cut or drag things along the bench but it has had normal wear and tear. And I doubt I will use my laundry bench for anything other than folding clothes, (if I do I will just have to put a protector on it). My question is this, will my cabinet maker freak out when I tell him I want this as my benchtop? Will he allow me to do it? Will I regret it in the longrun? regards, NN Re: Laminex Crystal Gloss - for a benchtop? 2Feb 23, 2012 6:12 pm go for it. If he freaks, put it on you tube. You can always replace it later if you really made a mistake etc. Re: Laminex Crystal Gloss - for a benchtop? 3Feb 25, 2012 7:01 am If you are happy to use it and accept responsibility for any scratches then the cabinet maker shouldnt have any problems fitting it for you! However, we reached a compromise, and we will now have Diamond Gloss Seductive Limba, not sure how much different it will look, but apparently it is more suitable for horizontal surfaces than the Crystal Gloss. And I'm sure the Diamond Gloss finish is what I have in my kitchen now. Very happy with it! Hi, planning on using the attached stone pieces in my bathroom. I want to remove stains and gloss seal.
